Britain is heading for a sharp weather switch. After a cooler, unsettled spell, forecasters expect temperatures to climb fast, with parts of the UK turning very warm around the late May Bank Holiday weekend.

The key date to watch is Friday, May 22, 2026, when several reports say temperatures could reach around 28C to 29C in parts of the UK. The Met Office forecast also says conditions will turn “very warm” from Friday into the weekend, with warm and dry weather likely to continue for many areas into Bank Holiday Monday and the following week.
