Urgent Warning: These Fruits Carry the Highest Levels of Pesticides and Forever Chemicals

A new pesticide ranking has put some of the most common household fruits under fresh scrutiny. The concern is not that people should stop eating fruit, but that some popular choices carry far more pesticide residues than others.

The warning is based on Environmental Working Group analysis of recent U.S. Department of Agriculture pesticide residue tests, covering 54,344 samples across 47 produce types. The Independent reported that several fruits on EWG’s 2026 “Dirty Dozen” list also showed concerning links to PFAS “forever chemical” pesticides.
