Two M&M’s Colours Are Disappearing From Bags — Here’s the Reason

Blue and brown M&M’s are disappearing from one new version of the familiar candy—but not from every bag. Mars plans to launch M&M’s Chocolate made without synthetic Food, Drug & Cosmetic colours in the United States in August 2026, initially through Amazon.

The missing shades reflect a production problem rather than a permanent brand decision. Mars has found workable natural replacements for four colours, but reproducing blue and brown affordably and consistently at commercial scale has proved far more difficult.
