Scientists Reveal a Wordle Trick That Solves 99% of Puzzles

Wordle encourages players to search immediately for the hidden answer, but researchers at Binghamton University found that the strongest move can be a word they do not expect to win with. Its purpose is to expose as much information as possible.

Their computer strategy solved more than 99% of the puzzles tested within Wordle’s six-guess limit. The method uses Shannon entropy, a mathematical way of measuring uncertainty, rather than relying only on familiar letters or lucky opening words.
