Nine-Year-Old Girl Killed After Police Mistake Family Car for Suspects’ Vehicle

A nine-year-old Australian girl was tragically killed after police opened fire on her family"s vehicle in Pakistan, allegedly mistaking it for a getaway car used by armed robbers.

Hania Ahmed, from Perth, Australia, was visiting relatives in the city of Chakwal, located in Pakistan"s Punjab province, when the incident occurred. According to local reports, Hania and her family had just arrived at a relative"s home when two armed men on a motorcycle confronted them and demanded jewellery and cash.

After the robbery, the suspects fled the scene. In the confusion that followed, police reportedly believed the family"s rental car was connected to the robbery. As Hania"s father, Adeel Ahmed, attempted to drive his family away from danger, officers opened fire on the vehicle.

The car was struck multiple times before crashing near a relative"s home. Hania suffered fatal injuries and was pronounced dead after being taken to hospital. Her father and 11-year-old brother were also wounded in the shooting, while her mother escaped physical injury.
