Is Culture Quietly Changing In Ways We Didn’t Expect?

Culture does not break down overnight. It moves, layer after layer, sometimes so slowly that they do not pay much attention to it, until something becomes strange. Traditions evolve. Language changes. Entertainment transforms. Technology recreates day-to-day activities. What seemed to be stable starts to shift towards new directions. A good number of them feel that traditional societal norms are in decline. Another group of people are of the opinion that society is just adjusting to the contemporary pressures. It is probably the reality between the two extremes. Cultural change may be initiating some level of discomfort as it touches on the identity, community and values. However, history teaches us that all generations are exposed to the same uncertainty. The issue is not the fact that culture is dying but the fact that it is transforming itself.
