“Mogging” has moved from obscure male-dominated internet forums into everyday Gen Z and Gen Alpha slang. It now appears in jokes, videos, sporting interviews and group chats, often used by people who know little about its original meaning.

The word can be harmlessly ridiculous, but its history raises a serious question. When language built around appearance, dominance and social ranking becomes normal entertainment, the assumptions underneath it may travel further than users realise.
