These Character Traits Might Mean You Are Autistic

Autism is not a personality flaw, a social failure, or a single “look” that applies to everyone. It is a neurodevelopmental difference, and official guidance emphasizes that autistic people can share some broad patterns in communication, sensory experience, routines, and interests—but those traits vary a lot from person to person. Just as importantly, some people without autism can have some of these traits too.

That is why traits alone cannot confirm a diagnosis. Still, certain recurring patterns may help explain why some people have long felt “different,” especially in social situations, daily routines, or sensory environments.
