Our Bodies Begin to Break Down at These 2 Specific Ages, Study Finds

Aging is often described as a slow decline, but a major study suggests the body does not change at the same pace all the way through adult life. Instead, researchers found two sharp periods when many biological markers shift more dramatically than expected.

The study, published in Nature Aging and reported by Stanford Medicine, followed 108 people aged 25 to 75 and analysed thousands of molecules and microorganisms over time. The strongest changes clustered around the mid-40s and early 60s, making ages 44 and 60 especially important in understanding how the body changes.
