A £13.5 million bungalow on Sandbanks, the exclusive peninsula in Poole Harbour, Dorset, has finally been demolished after a long planning dispute. The property, known as North Haven Point, became famous not because it was grand, but because its price made it one of the most expensive bungalows ever reported.
The owner, entrepreneur Tom Glanfield, bought the run-down home in 2023 and argued that demolition was the only sensible route. The row began because planners saw heritage and conservation concerns, while Glanfield said the building was mouldy, inefficient and no longer fit for purpose.
