Nearly three years after the murders of four University of Idaho students stunned the United States, a new documentary series is set to revisit the tragic case that left an entire community living in fear.

The Idaho Murders: College Nightmare will premiere on 29 July, examining the events surrounding the brutal killings of Kaylee Goncalves, Madison Mogen, Xana Kernodle and Ethan Chapin, who were found dead in an off-campus home in Moscow, Idaho, on 13 November 2022.

The murders shocked the nation not only because of their brutality but also because the killer remained unidentified for weeks, leaving residents of the small university town anxious and uncertain about their safety.

The documentary explores the investigation that followed, including the extensive efforts by local police, the FBI and forensic experts to identify a suspect. It also examines how the tragedy affected the victims" families, fellow students and the wider Moscow community.

The case attracted international attention as investigators analysed DNA evidence, surveillance footage and mobile phone data before arresting Bryan Kohberger, a graduate criminology student, in December 2022.

The series promises exclusive interviews, previously unseen material and insight into one of the most closely followed criminal investigations in recent American history, while reflecting on the lasting impact the murders have had on the victims" loved ones and the University of Idaho community.
